A large painting created with a blend of monotone, black, white and Prussian blue hues. It is framed in a handcrafted poplar wood white shadow frame. It encapsulates the dichotomy of feeling trapped within the confines of one’s own mind, yet finding solace and comfort within the sanctuary of the bed.
In this piece, the internal struggle faced by many individuals is portrayed, highlighting the arduous task of overcoming the weight of mental health challenges. The contrasting shades of black and white symbolize the stark contrast between the darkness of despair and the glimmers of hope that persist within.

This forms part of my series ”The Weight Of It All” – a series of paintings that delve into the struggles with mental health. Born out of a period of grief following the loss of a close friend, these artworks have evolved into a poignant representation of my own journey with mental health over the years, offering viewers a visual glimpse into the intricacies of my mind. I hope to encourage conversations about mental health, challenging stigmas, and fostering a supportive environment for those grappling with their own mental well-being.
